The April Report was publish on May 20, 2020 for the real estate sales for the month of March 2020. The data includes the average price per square meter for listings in the Kansai region in one data set. The Kansai region includes Wakayama, Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, Kyoto, and Shiga Prefectures. 

Data for Real Estate Sales will not included new construction.

The Data will be broken down into three categories:

  1. Condominium Sales
  2. House Sales
  3. Land Sales

Sub categories will include units sold and the number of new listings on the market.

Recap

As expected, the number of transactions for condominiums, houses, and land were down compared to the year before (2019).
Condominium sales were down 42.3%
House sales were down 37.8%
Land sales were down 28.7%

The general public believes with COVID-19 there should be a drop in real estate prices. Granted average prices for condominium, houses, and land have been declining since February. We should continue to monitor the average sales prices for May and June as well as keeping an eye on the inventory.
